How PYNSW Camping Helps Your Church

Your youth ministry is unique to your church, your area in NSW and the resources available to you because of these factors. PYNSW Camping runs camps twice per year (Winter and Summer), and these are designed to draw youth and leaders from all across NSW (and sometimes beyond) together in temporary community, under the teaching of God’s Word, and for His glory.

This is a unique opportunity for your youth to make connections with other youth from far and wide, and we have seen these relationships continue into adulthood.

Youth come along to Camp and they return to your church and youth groups having been challenged and encouraged to take their relationship with God more seriously. They return with more friends, fun memories, and having had the opportunity to hear and study the bible within Christian Community.

“PYNSW CAMPS HAVE ALLOWED MY CHURCH TO CREATE A CULTURE OF SHARED EXPERIENCES FOR BOTH OUR LEADERS AND THE YOUTH THAT GO TO CAMP. AND ALSO ALLOW OUR KIDS TO INTERACT WITH KIDS FROM AROUND THE STATE.”
-KELLY SHELDON

THE CASE FOR RESOURCES

CAMP IS A RESOURCE

Camps create a gospel-centred temporary residential community for Youth from across NSW to know & grow in Jesus.

PYNSW Camps are a resource at your disposal. They are grounded in the Gospel, challenging Youth where they stand before Jesus, encouraging them to grow in their love & knowledge of Him. We design Camp to build community & relationships with Youth from all across NSW. We pour effort into ensuring they are memorable experiences for years to come.

We do this through the leaders who attend our Camps so they can serve and walk alongside your youth. Leaders, young and old, from your Church can be afforded opportunities across Camp that they may not be able to access otherwise. Roles on Camp available for your leaders include:

  • Small group leading (leading bible studies, engaging in activities with your group, gett)
  • Mentoring (for mature Christians who meet with and pray for the other leaders on Camp)
  • Logistics (help keep Camp running smoothly and help coordinate all the moving parts)
  • Sessions (those with technical skills in sound, lighting, videography, and music)
  • Camp Parents (caring for Campers and Leaders, particularly when people are unwell, feeling homesick, or need a listening ear).

Camps are a resource at your disposal to be plugged into your Youth Ministry.

“IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO OVERSTATE THE JOY OF SEEING TEENAGERS FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS GROW TOGETHER AROUND GOD’S WORD, AND REALISE THAT DESPITE HOW THINGS MAY SOMETIMES FEEL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THEY’RE NOT ALONE.”
-JOSH NEWANS

HOW TO USE CAMP

Schedule, Encourage & Debrief

  1. Schedule it into your Youth Ministry Calendar
We have two Camps per year and coming to both might not work for your Church but if you can pick one Camp to come along to with your Youth, they will be more encouraged to attend
  2. Encourage your Youth to attend (you also can send Leaders or attend yourself)
Talk to your youth about Camp and help them get excited. Talk to their parents about the unique opportunities that PYNSW Camp provides and the importance of linking them up with peers who are also walking with God. Encourage leaders from your church to come and encourage young people and to be encouraged.
  3. Debrief with your Youth afterwards.
Having shared the experience of PYNSW Camp, a flash in the pan compared to the week to week contact your Church has, debrief with them about Camp and the ways in which they were challenged or encouraged.

“I HAVE SEEN PYNSW CAMPS SERVING AS A BRILLIANT WAY OF CONNECTING, CHALLENGING, ENGAGING, DISCIPLESHIP, FELLOWSHIP AND DEEPENING FAITH.”

WHY USE CAMP

Bible based, Simple to Integrate, Local Church focused & a Memorable Experience.

Bible based

At the core of Camp is the Gospel, as uncovered in the Bible. Our Speakers are theologically trained and predominantly minister in Presbyterian Churches around NSW. Many of our Leaders have undertaken formal theological training and all Leaders are specifically prepared prior to Camp in the Biblical theme of that specific Camp. Each day at Camp, significant time is spent in the Bible, wrestling with God’s Word in groups and as individuals.

Simple to Integrate

Integrating Camp into your Youth Ministry is easy. Simply put it in the Calendar and encourage your Youth to attend – no other work required.

Local Church focused

The Local Church is the epicentre of Youth Ministry. You are on the front lines. We are dedicated to supporting you. The Youth you send, we seek to return to you, encouraged & built up in the Gospel.

Memorable Experience

Camp is fun! Our team dedicates months of planning to create experiences on Camp that form communities, bring laughter & will be remembered for years to come. Activities that consider the different interests people hold – from those that love to run to those that love to sit. Experiences that form relationships for the sake of sharing the Gospel. With daily talks, equivalent of sermons, bible studies, equivalent of home groups, worship through songs, prayer meetings, evening devotions, personal bible times and an evangelistic talk, Campers and Leaders return year after year having learnt the ebbs and flows of Camp, focused on knowing and growing in faith and knowledge of Jesus.

“PYNSW CAMPS ARE WORTH 6-MONTHS (OR MORE!) OF REGULAR FRIDAY NIGHTS AND SUNDAYS IN THE DISCIPLESHIP OF YOUTH AT NEW LIFE”
