Kids Ministry Resources

A group for Children's Ministry in the PCNSW

From 2024, PYNSW has been gathering a group of kids ministry workers and volunteer leaders from around NSW to talk about best practice and advocate for kids ministry at churches.

At the moment, we meet every second month on zoom.

One result of that group is this new page, where we hope to be able to share a range of kids ministry resources with a wider group.

If you have suggestions for this page, or you would like to know more about kids ministry in the PCNSW, please get in touch using this registration form.

Online Resources for Kids Ministry

  • Quizworx Home Delivery – PYNSW has a long history of working with Quizworx in SRE and in other ways.
  • Kidswise – from MBM Church in Rooty Hill, in Western Sydney – paid membership option (Sunday School curriculum and more)
  • The Bible Project – the Bible Project videos are a great way to introduce a bible book before launching in for a term syllabus – they are great summaries & easy for kids to understand.  Sometimes you will need to spend time answering questions they have, or maybe watch it a couple of weeks in a row & sometimes even finish the term with it again so they know where they’ve been!  They are also helpful when questions arise from children on specific topics – you can quickly show them the following week as part of an answer to the questions & creates good discussion. Free resource – donations sought.
  • The Chosen series – Sometimes showing segments of ‘The Chosen’ videos can be helpful too esp in NT book studies, or Parables, Sermon on the Mount etc – linking what Jesus said and did to what verses you are looking at that also have a similar theme can be really helpful for young ones.  Main draw back, is that it can take a bit of time to find & cue the video segments you want.  Seasons 1-3 FREE
  • Kids Bible Experience Devotionals and 314 kids – Mainly a thematic based resource rather than book of Bible based.  They have short videos that link through an icebreaker type scenario, contemporary question/situation, bible story video, opportunity for discussion & prayer time.  Once again, these can be used flexibly to break up teaching components. Free resource.
  • Crossroads Kids Club – Includes ‘God’s Word’ short videos telling bible stories for kids (youtube videos).
  • Faith in Kids
  • Sermons for Kids
  • God’s Story – a series of animations (youtube playlist)
  • Ministry to Children (library of free resources to download and print)
  • Mustard Seeds curriculum (UK-based, subscription required)
  • CEP (Sydney Anglican) materials
